Watt Led
how many watts led equivalent metal halide lamps?
ok so I have a 125 gallons reef and I would like to upgrade my lights, an LED Lamp i build. i plan to about 62.25 watts every 2 feet to about 186.7 watts of power have. I know theres will need 3-5 watts per gallon but LEDs are much less. so what would be the demand to upgrade my lights. I have a mixed reef, but most of the PLC.
The LEDs, which I am familiar with are CREE 3 Watt LEDs that supposedly some of the best on the market. However, I am not sure how many LEDs you need a tank that big especially if you mostly keep SPS light. Your best bet would be to To check the forums people, the buildings are LED lights also. I can tell you that you spend a lot of money. Perhaps even more than what it would be Buy metal halides, but LEDs last much longer. When I was in LEDs are interested, I read this whole forum about LED lights. It is to read a ton, but it is extremely informative.
